Toolless tank caps
Special patented caps for the fuel and oil tank. The tanks of power tools equipped with these can be opened and closed quickly, without effort and without any other tool.
Single-lever master control
The machine's functions—cold and warm start, operation, and stopping—are controlled from a single lever. This makes operation particularly comfortable and safe, as the right hand can remain on the handle at all times.
Compensator
The STIHL compensator, a regulation system in the carburetor, ensures that engine power, exhaust gas quality, and fuel consumption remain almost constant despite the increasing dirt accumulation on the air filter. The air filter only needs to be cleaned if a noticeable drop in power occurs, enabling very long working intervals without maintenance.
Side-mounted chain tensioner
The chain tensioning screw is operated from the side through the sprocket cover. This prevents hand contact with the sharp saw chain and the spikes of the bumper spike.
Adjustable-flow oil pump
Allows precise delivery of the oil quantity, adapted to requirements. The "E" mark ensures a sufficient oil amount for any situation. Professionals can dose more finely. A reduction of the delivered oil quantity by up to 50% is possible. (Image similar).
Anti-vibration system
Strong vibrations at the gripping points of power tools can lead to long-term blood circulation disorders in the hands and arms. Therefore, STIHL has developed the anti-vibration system. On power tools with AV system, the vibrations at the handles produced by the combustion engine and the moving tool are clearly reduced.
Ematic chain lubrication system
The STIHL Ematic system consists of the Ematic guide bar, Oilomatic saw chain, and an oil pump with adjustable or reduced delivery volume. The special construction of the bar and chain ensures every drop of chain oil reaches exactly where it is needed for lubrication. Oil consumption can thus be reduced by up to 50%.
STIHL ElastoStart
As a result of compression pressure when starting combustion engines, shock force peaks are generated that stress muscles and joints. The cushioning element in the special ElastoStart starter handle alternately absorbs force according to the compression pattern and releases it again. This results in a smooth starting process without shock force peaks.
Decompression valve
The decompression valve allows part of the compressed mixture to escape from the cylinder during startup. This clearly reduces the required pulling force on the starter rope. The burden on the user is reduced, and the entire engine starting system is protected.
